How it Works Close Radiator?

Function and How it Works Radiator cap - Close Radiator serves to maintain the pressure in the cooling system of the engine. And cooling system in a vehicle is an important component to maintain the temperature of the engine to prevent overheating.

Radiator cap not only serves to cover the radiator as we closed the water bottle when it's closed over the issue because water does not come out.
cooling water circulation

Inside the vehicle cooling system, when temperatures rise automatically the cooling water temperature rises and the pressure in the system goes up. There is a mechanism in order to cover up his radiator temperature and pressure do not cause the radiator or radiator hose burst.
relief valve works

In the picture above, the relief valve is driven by the water pressure inside the radiator when the pressure exceeds the radiator pressure relief valve spring, the amount of pressure is usually written on the radiator cap. Furthermore, the water flows into the reservoir or water supply tube radiator.
vacuum valve works

When the working temperature of the radiator water temperature sensor (water temperature sensor) is reached, the motor cooling fan works, gusts of wind cause the temperature and the pressure drops, there is a vacuum in the cooling system, vacuum valve opens and the water from the tube back into the radiator or reservoir.

Vacuum valve serves also to bleding water in the cooling system, when there is still air trapped in the system.

Tip water filling the radiator:

If the cooling system at drain out and replaced with new radiator water, add water to the radiator until it is full, do not install the radiator cap first, but run the engine for a while, the water will go down because the radiator fill the empty space in the engine Circulate the water pump (water pump), add more water to the radiator until it is full again, then close his radiator. Do not forget to fill up the radiator water tube (reservoir).

If the above is not done, for some type of car can cause over heating. What do you think why? Please give coment below.

A few things to note from the radiator cap:

  • the condition of the rubber relief valve, relief valve rubber could be damaged by the use of unsuitable radiator coolant, radiator coolant usage that does not fit can damage rubber thermostat.
  • vacuum valve condition
  • spring-loaded pressure relief valve that can be checked using the radiator cup tester
